Resident coastal communities have some of the poorest rates of general health in England and they experience high levels of social inequality.
While St Ives has been voted one of the “happiest places to live” and is well-known as a premium holiday destination, the experience of living here can be very different.
‘Life in St Ives‘ is a community-led, participatory research project for the people of the Parish of St Ives in Cornwall, funded by UKRI and managed by the St Ives Community Land Trust.
This project is designed to understand the lived experience of the local community and enable a path towards sustainable, long-term social and economic prosperity.
Our intention is to chart a practical path towards increased community capacity and look at ways of creating long-term social and economic benefits, led by the people of the Parish themselves and their needs.
